IT Software Developer
Purpose of the job:
The IT Software Developer is responsible for delivering software/IT solutions to the business side of the organization. They design, maintain, and implement database management systems, computer applications, and operating systems; they also analyze organizational software needs, devise solutions, and maintain PC software and hardware systems.
Summary of responsibilities:
1. Integrate and develop software according to business needs.
2. Manage and maintain software currently in use in the Terminal.
3. Make changes in software programs based on end-user demands.
4. Follow updates in software systems and update accordingly.
5. Ensure that IT systems work without interruption and provide technical support to end-users during the opening hours of the terminal and be available for night/holiday support when required.
Education & Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or related field (preferred).
5 years of professional experience as an IT Software Developer.
Technical Skills & Knowledge Required:
1. Operate in one or more object-oriented languages (Java, Python).
2. Good knowledge in relational database management and backend solutions.
3. Good knowledge in MS, Linux, and VMware administration tools.
4. Good knowledge of SQL language.
5. Good knowledge in Docker virtualization.
6. Preferred: knowledge in EDI, Kubernetes, integration software, ETL, messaging systems (JMS, Kafka).
Behavioral Competences Required:
1. Ability to work well with others (team building).
2. Good communication skills.
3. Problem-solving skills.
Language Requirements:
Intermediate spoken English.
