THE ROLE You will be working in a multicultural and multi-disciplinary group. The team is composed of material scientists, physicists, neuroscientists, electronic engineers, computational scientists, biotechnologists, and biomedical engineers, sharing their expertise to work at the border of these multiple disciplines. The main aim will be to correlate multifunctional signals in 3D printed neurochips for next generation studies on neural degeneration, via spectroscopy and electrophysiological recordings. Your main responsibilities will include: Developing a Raman spectroscopy system that can be used in environments with limited space, including surgery rooms for research purposes. Using the developed system to collect Raman spectroscopy datasets from murine models using implantable fiber optics. Developing algorithms to distinguish between different brain regions only based on Raman spectra. ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS A PhD in Photonics, Physics, Nanotechnologies or related disciplines. Previous experience in the development of optical systems. Previous experience in Raman spectroscopy. Previous experience in Raman spectroscopy for tissue. Coding skills in Python, Matlab, and C++. Good command of spoken and written English. ADDITIONAL SKILLS Strong problem-solving attitude. High motivation to learn. Spirit of innovation and creativity. Good time and priority management. Ability to work in a challenging and international environment. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a highly interdisciplinary environment.
