Job Title: Automation Engineer
Location: Castiglione delle Stiviere, Italy
Job Purpose:
The Automation Engineer is responsible for developing, designing, building, planning, executing and closing automation and Continuous Improvement projects through cross functional team collaboration. Performing (preventive) maintenance, modifications and repairs of all automated production systems. The primary accountabilities of the role are to ensure high reliability and productivity of the machinery and automated production systems, safety, automation, data collection, troubleshooting, continuous improvement and to provide IT support.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
* Develop and coordinate automation project planning, execution and closing;
* Participate in Project Management Plans and Processes (cost, schedule, communication, resources, scope, risk, etc.);
* Provide local strategic decisions support in annual (Capital Expense Budget & Operational) planning processes;
* Coordinate installation, commissioning, start up collaborating with suppliers, end users, plant operation team, maintenance team, plant engineering team;
* Provide technical expertise to configure, maintain and troubleshoot plant equipment and systems;
* Maintain, develop and improve the Plant Floor Systems by modifications of PLC, SCADA and HMI applications;
* Identify, analyze and solve (potential) problems / malfunctions of the Plant Floor Systems;
* Research and advise with regard to the (automated) production systems;
* Share knowledge and develop skills of others and participate in continuous learning opportunities;
* Understand and apply company standards including Safety, Food Safety, Sustainability, Performance, Reliability, Finance, Security and Risk Management.
Education/ Experience Requirements
* Bachelor in Engineering / Technical field;
* 3/5 years of engineering experiences in integration, production or supply chain environments with an automation focus;
* RPA certification (Robotic Process Automation);
* Work experience in a manufacturing environment (preferably food).
Expected Areas of Skills/Knowledge/Abilities
* Project management;
* Electrical and automation engineering;
* PLCs, HMI systems, system integration and/or plant floor systems;
* Robotics in processing;
* 2D drawing.
The Automation Engineer works within a structure that requires considerable interaction with production units and support functions such as local, European and global engineer and automation departments.
