We are seeking a talented Software Development Manager to help our teams better solve our customers' needs. In this role, you will:
1. Contribute to the tech vision, strategy, and roadmap of one of the most important initiatives across Amazon
2. Enable innovative technology solutions that directly improve buyer experience worldwide, impacting a multi-billion-dollar business
3. Work across all tiers leveraging Service-Oriented Architecture, mobile platforms, user experience, analytics, and data mining
4. Collaborate closely with our teams, partners, and stakeholders to set direction, maintain alignment, manage expectations, and help overcome organizational challenges
5. Enable solutions that reach millions of new customers globally, providing them with a world-class shopping experience

Key job responsibilities
1. Building, leading, and developing a high-performing team.
2. Working closely with product managers, UX designers, and senior leadership to provide our customers with the best Customer Experience.
3. Defining the strategy and roadmap as part of the operational planning cycles.
4. Defining and championing platform solutions across multiple consoles to improve development speed, quality, and overall consistency.
5. Managing the operations of your systems, including continuous improvement to performance and security.

Minimum Qualifications
1. Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and livesite operations.
2. Experience in leading the definition and development of multi-tier web services.
3. Experience managing engineers.
4. Experience partnering with product and program management teams.
5. Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior leadership to collect requirements, describe software product features, technical designs, and product strategy.
6. Experience in recruiting, hiring, mentoring/coaching and managing teams of Software Engineers to improve their skills, and make them more effective, product software engineers.
