Description: Electrical Engineer Responsibilities At Pentair Pool, you’ll be working in the Engineering Team and will be responsible for specific sustaining engineering projects (e.g. quality improvements, adaptations on existing products, VAVE activity, etc) in line with our European Roadmap. You will design, implement, and verify electronic hardware including power and communication lines for swimming pool products, focusing on pumps and electrical motors produced in Pisa. You must be able to report progress and milestones relative to the overall development project. What Will You Do Daily? Product Improvement/Development: Design and develop solutions and implement plans related to product improvement projects, give input to the Engineering Manager about progress and provisional results, and make proposals/recommendations to adjust the planning if necessary. Supervise completion of all necessary documents (SKU’s, BOM’s, drawings, work instructions, product certifications, etc.) related to the product to secure long-term operation in the market and our facilities. Define the technical specifications (DWG, DVP&R). Testing and Validation: Execute product testing and validation processes (DVP&R), ensuring products meet design specifications and performance requirements. Process Optimization: Identify opportunities to optimize product, improve efficiency, and reduce costs without compromising quality and performance. Electrical/Mechanical design of product components and subassemblies according to applicable standards, technical requirements, manufacturing processes, and design guidelines. Identifying and resolving product defects: This includes troubleshooting issues reported by customers, working with other engineers to understand the root cause of problems, and implementing solutions to fix them. Working with other teams: This includes collaborating with manufacturing, marketing, and other worldwide located teams to ensure that products continue to meet customer needs and industry standards. Regulatory and Compliance: Ensure product designs adhere to all applicable laws and standards and certifications. Qualifications and Skills Required: Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Electronic or Electrical Engineering or a related field. Professional background in designing electrical systems for actuation of motors and motion/force sensing. Proven experience in designing electrical systems for consumer products, preferably Pump/Drive. Experience designing complex printed circuit boards (PCB). Knowledge of power electronics, driver for electric motor control, signal amp, and sensors acquisition. Experience selecting and integrating off-the-shelf components. Professional use of CAD systems (Altium preferred). Knowledge of SAP is considered a plus. Proficiency in 3D-CAD, preferably SolidWorks is considered a plus. Knowledge of relevant regulations, standards, and certifications related to electrical engineering in the European market is considered a plus. Strong ability to isolate and debug embedded hardware problems. Comfortable with all phases of the product development lifecycle including design, implementation, debug, verification, qualification, and transfer. Strong inter-disciplinary understanding of mechanics, manufacturing, control, and software. Good communication and documentation skills, generation of formal design documentation, review, and control. Professional written and spoken English. Willingness to travel.
