Inside the Product Engineering Department, the Chief Project Engineer reports directly to the Product Engineering Manager and has the following main responsibilities:
* Achieving the Quality, Cost and Time objectives with regards to product design activities;
* Implements the product/project objectives and defines the technical contents of the product, with the declination of the requirements on the technical characteristics of the product and management in development;
* Plans product development activities to respect project times;
* Monitors the progress of activities in the projects, highlighting the deviations between what was planned and what was achieved, and adopts the necessary corrective actions;
* Manages the drafting and updating of the Project Documentation;
* In the Platform, it supports the definition of the Prevention and Validation Plan of the project; therefore guarantees their correct execution with regards to Product Engineering activities;
* Promotes the adoption of "concurrent engineering" among Development activities and makes the necessary resources available to promote "concurrent engineering" at the Product Development Platform level;
* Approves drawings and product lists for Prototypes and Production (CID status P/A);
* Participates in the cross-functional Platform team for product development;
* Participates in the cross-functional Product Behavior team;
* Provides technical support to the operational activities of assembly and testing of prototypes;
* Provides technical support to the operational assembly and testing activities of production vehicles.
Main skills required for the position:
* Engineering University Degree;
* At least 3/5 years of previous experience in the automotive or similar sectors;
* Knowledge of project management tools (Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project);
* Knowledge of vehicle structures (mechanics of bodywork systems);
* Good knowledge of mechanical parts / groups / assemblies, systems, bodywork;
* Ability to read technical drawings and bills of materials;
* Knowledge of the functionality of electrical, mechanical and hydraulic systems;
* Absolute availability to travel nationally and internationally, even for long periods;
* Italian Mother-tongue and English at least intermediate;
* Good team management/coordination skills.
