Objective of the Role
Reporting to the CEO of Interni, the Head of eCommerce will lead the overall direction and management of the company’s Ecommerce business. With at least 7 years of experience in related roles, the Head of eCommerce will partner closely with marketing, sales, operations, external agencies and the entire Interni leadership team. This role entails not only supervising ecommerce operations, but also navigating relationships with design industry suppliers, technical and logistics vendors. The Head of Ecommerce will be instrumental in carrying Interni’s 90-year brand story to the digital space by enhancing the company’s ecommerce platforms, expanding their digital footprint, and driving revenue growth. In this role, you will provide thought leadership and communicate strategic direction to build and execute a successful eCommerce / Growth plan. You will be responsible for developing the strategy and execution to create a best-in-class digital consumer experience. This includes customer acquisition, conversion, retention, and customer satisfaction across all eCommerce touchpoints.
Ideal Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate for this role is passionate about Design, a strategic thinker with strong leadership skills and a deep understanding of ecommerce operations. She/he is well-versed in web technologies, web fulfillment and possesses strong experience in Google Analytics, SEO, email marketing, and social media. With the opportunity to build a new channel and organization from the ground, the ideal candidate is enthusiastic about growth and embraces a challenge. The candidate must have a strong commercial acumen, with the ability to manage budgets or a P&L, ensuring the most efficient use of resources. An elevated taste level and strong aesthetic is also highly favorable. Finally, she/he must be adept at managing relationships with multiple stakeholders, from design suppliers to technical and logistics vendors.
Responsibilities
1. Build, scale and run a profitable Ecommerce business.
2. Development of eCommerce strategy and primary objectives across B2B and B2C audiences.
3. Direct the management of the company’s ecommerce P&L or budget, identifying areas of cost optimization and revenue opportunities.
4. Build a high-performance team, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and a continuous improvement mindset. Provide guidance, mentorship, and professional development opportunities to team members, helping them achieve their full potential.
5. Collaborate closely with internal & external stakeholders, including Marketing, Sales, Creative, IT, Finance, and Fulfillment, to ensure alignment and achievement of digital business objectives.
6. Lead Insights development of e-commerce data covering key metrics and KPIs (conversion, cohorts, A/B test results, AOV, UPT.) daily, weekly, and monthly.
7. Ensure the day-to-day effectiveness of site merchandising, navigation, search functionality, and product presentation, maximizing the customer experience and delivering sale and conversion growth while maintaining the brand identity.
8. Leverage data to drive decision making, track performance metrics, and identify opportunities for growth.
9. Work cross-functionally to optimize the post-purchase customer experience including order coordination, returns, and overall care.
10. Maintain and nurture relationships with design suppliers, technical, and logistics vendors.
11. Stay current on relevant technologies to drive consumer experience, including website optimization and personalization. Cultivate strong relationships with external partners, agencies, and vendors to drive innovation and revenue optimization.
Requirements
12. 7+ years’ experience leading ecommerce in a multi-channel retailer or wholesaler in the luxury world.
13. Experience in Design and/or related Luxury industries.
14. Degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field.
15. Experience successfully managing external agency relationships.
16. Deep understanding of web technologies
17. Proficiency in Google Analytics, SEO, email marketing, and social media.
18. A customer-first mindset.
19. Strong analytical abilities and experience in reporting and data analysis.
20. Ability to balance analytics and the need for risk-taking, innovation and creativity.
