Job Description
Reporting to the maître, the selected resource will be in charge of a specific station of the restaurant.
Please note that this is not an exhaustive list of everything that needs to be done. Anantara employees always find new ways to look after the business, their guests, and their colleagues. Within this, the key responsibilities for this position are:
· Ensuring and organizing the set-up of the dining room and tables, taking care of their functionality and aesthetics;
· Welcoming guests, guiding them to the tables, presenting the menu and wine list, suggesting the best pairings, and managing table service;
· Maintain your station in accordance with standards at all times;
· Develop a complete knowledge of menus;
· Coordinating and monitoring the commis waiters assigned to him/her;
· To work as a team with colleagues in all departments, to ensure timely service and a smooth running operation.
· Actively participate in all training meetings, to continually develop professional skills and increase guest satisfaction.
Qualifications
· Graduation in the tourism/hotel industry.
· At least 2 years' experience in a similar position in luxury hotels or high-level restaurants.
· Familiarity with the mise en place techniques of an à la carte restaurant and banqueting.
· Fluent English and a second foreign language are considered a plus.
· Pleasant personality and positive attitude, with a strong sense of aesthetics and attention to details and quality.
· Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to anticipate the guests' needs, and work both in a team and independently.
