We are now looking for a NAV-COM Service Engineer to join our NAV-COM Field Service Department. The preferred location for this position is in Monfalcone, Italy. What will you be doing In this position, your work will include performing field service activities according to the work plan. On a typical day, you might start with travel to the final location where you will find the vessel having all the naval equipment ready and end the day with having in your hands the work report signed and accepted by the customer. You will not be working on this alone, even though the work requires a high level of independence, as you will have the support from our Senior Field Service Technicians and colleagues part of the technical office. As Service Engineer, your work will focus on these responsibilities: Perform field service activities according to the work plan. Perform basic troubleshooting (running tests, fine-tuning, adjustments) on equipment families. Independently perform major/complex repairs and complete overhauls. Perform installation and pre-commissioning checks and activities. Perform commissioning activities and hand over the equipment to the customer and/or shipyard. Lead and manage assigned team and related activities during the work execution. Interact with customers during the work execution. Provide internal and external progress status of the assigned work. Create the service reports. Ensure that the work is executed according to Wärtsilä Quality, Health, Safety, and Environmental guidelines and customer site procedures. Advise and promote available products and solutions to customers. The main responsibility of a Field Service Engineer is to achieve the objectives of the project by ensuring that the product (or products) is made in compliance with the established times, quality, and costs. The Field Service Engineer is responsible for performing field service activities according to the work plan. This includes planning, delegation, monitoring, and control. It also includes working and having interaction with the technical office, colleagues part of the team, and Project Management support to ensure revenue and customer satisfaction goals are met. To be successful in this role, we expect you to have: Understanding of automation systems. Experience of a minimum of 2 years on board cruise & merchant vessels. Experience with the Platinum system. Proficiency in English, both written and verbal. Willingness to travel approximately 60% of the time. Why you and us?
