We are hiring a Trader to focus on our southern European business, with a key focus on the Italian markets. Our focus started with sugar, and now expands across several food ingredients and packaging products such as dairy, animal feed, starches, and PET. Our business operates three warehouses across Italy to manage supply to our 50+ clients. These clients vary from small family run companies to some of the largest household brands. We aim to grow our business by expanding our product offering to existing and new clients.
Tasks & Responsibilities
* Expand and develop further our client base for physical transactions into the EU for sugar, food ingredients and packaging products sourced from within EU, and third country suppliers.
* Identify and develop new opportunities beyond our core ingredients offering, through the tools that Cz provide to enhance consumers’ commercial positions, namely stock management through Vendor Managed Inventories (VMI), stock financing, logistics optimisation and price risk management.
* Must work closely with the commercial team to develop and implement strategy.
* Communication with operations and finance teams to ensure successful supply chain management.
* Coordinating timely and accurate management reporting to EU FIP team.
* Oversee and monitor the use of derivatives.
* To take responsibility for your performance and to work together to achieve our organizational goals.
* To attend training courses which are identified as being necessary for the performance of the role.
* To be fully conversant with the Employee Handbook and supporting policies, including Health & Safety legislation and fire and emergency procedures.
* To comply with any reasonable instruction issued by your manager.

We are looking for someone with the following skillset and attributes:
Essential:
* Proven experience of developing business in Southern Europe.
* Ability to travel to meet clients.
* Driving license.
* Business level fluency in English (both written and verbal).
* Advanced communication skills.
* Strong I.T. skills including proficiency in Excel and Word.
* Excellent organisation and time management skills.
* Keen attention to detail and the ability to multi-task.
* Self-starter with the ability to use initiative for problem solving.
* Resourceful, innovative and proactive.
* Personable with the ability to build relationships and communicate with all levels both internally and externally.
* Italian language.
Desirable:
* Previous food ingredients or packaging sector sales experience (specifically dairy or animal nutrition experience would be an advantage).
* Good commercial contacts within Italy.
