Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Technical Editor to join our client's team, focused on creating and maintaining technical documentation for medical devices. This is an exciting opportunity for a professional with a passion for precision, clear communication, and technical writing, ideally in the biomedical field.
In this role, you will work closely with the Technical Director and Technical Writing Manager to develop, edit, and update documentation that supports users in setting up, using, and maintaining medical devices.
Key Responsibilities:
* Write and edit technical documentation including operating instructions, manuals, specifications, product descriptions, and quick guides for medical devices.
* Review and update existing documentation to ensure its accuracy, clarity, and relevance.
* Perform DTP (Desktop Publishing) activities, including the layout of text and images, preparing documents for printing and online publication.
* Assist in updating and maintaining technical files in compliance with regulatory standards.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather detailed information about products and processes to document.
* Manage the translation of technical documents into other languages, ensuring accuracy in the final versions.
Requirements:
* Education: Degree in biomedical, computer science, or a language/humanities discipline.
* Professional Experience: At least 2 years in a similar technical editing role, preferably in the biomedical or medical device field.
* Proficiency in Italian (min. level C1).
* Fluency in English (min. level B1).
* Strong knowledge of the Office suite and Adobe Acrobat.
* Basic knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop) is preferred.
* Strong ability to research, summarize, and revise information.
* Ability to draft and revise complex technical content.
* Clear and concise communication skills, capable of translating complex technical concepts for different audiences.
* Detail-oriented with a focus on precision.
* Basic knowledge of technical writing principles, including documentation creation and management tools.
* Basic graphic design skills for simple illustrations and image editing (preferred).
* Knowledge of controlled languages and terminology control principles is a plus.
Location: Trento, Italy
(Ability to work remotely most of the time, with 2 days presence in the office when project needs require)
