Data Protection Expert
About the Job
The Data Protection Office is providing advice on compliance with applicable regulation, existing data privacy processes or policies as well as developing any procedures for the local data privacy programs. It does perform assessments of data privacy impact and security risks within the organization; implements and tracks execution of risk-based analysis, privacy controls and measures, including regular monitoring of the controls in the organization.
The Data Protection Expert in the Data Protection Office of Allianz Technology S.p.A. contributes to the achievement of the goals of the department by supporting the local Data Protection Officer in the development and implementation of the Data Privacy policy of the company.
To complete his task the Data Privacy Expert does interact with all the other relevant stakeholders (among others, Software Development Teams, Infrastructure Management Teams, Information Security, Functions, Procurement, Legal, Risk Management, Compliance).
What you do
* Maintain accurate and updated Data Privacy Registers for both internal processes (as a Data Controller) and services/products handling Personal Data on behalf of others (as a Data Processor).
* Develop, prepare, and roll out Data Privacy awareness campaigns while also promoting a culture of Privacy and Data Protection aligned with Allianz Technology Data Privacy Policy and Allianz Privacy Standard (APS).
* Provide customized Data Privacy training and communication tailored to local needs, ensuring an adequate level of privacy knowledge and awareness.
* Advise local management and information/service/process owners on managing Data Privacy risks, while supporting senior leadership in fostering a strong privacy culture.
* Ensure timely remediation of audit findings and privacy issues while handling Data Privacy complaints, inquiries and incidents, including consulting on personal data breaches and remedial actions.
* Participate in company management reporting on Data Privacy matters and represent the local entity in the relationship with local Data Privacy Supervisory Authority.
* Support and advise on Data Privacy-related matters, including compliance, risk mitigation and incident resolution.
What you bring
* Strong knowledge of regulatory frameworks, particularly Data Protection (GDPR) and security standards (ISO), along with an understanding of IT systems and their role in data protection, collection and processing.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office products and fluency in English (verbal and written).
* Excellent communication skills with the ability to convey compliance and corporate governance issues effectively.
* High level of integrity, impartiality, responsibility, confidentiality and initiative.
* Willingness to travel (approximately 20%)
* At least 5 years of experience in a similar position, preferably in data privacy, risk management, internal control, or compliance, with expertise in risk analysis and control frameworks.
* Academic background or degree in Computer Science, Economics, Law, or related fields; a Data Privacy Certification would be a plus.
