We are now looking for a Service Engineer E&A to join our Electrical & Automation Fields Services Resources team, to improve its after-sales assistance staff.
The position is located in Trieste, Italy.
Your role and responsibilities
As a Service Engineer E&A, your work will include the following tasks:
* Carry out complex field service activities in electrical and automation related to Wärtsilä's products, including their commissioning, trial tests, adjustments, repair, and maintenance.
* Perform advanced troubleshooting on site to isolate and find root causes of failures in electrical and automation equipment.
* Lead and manage assigned self/team while on site, interacting with the customer to arrange for proper schedule to achieve desired scope.
* Be able to assure prompt feedback to work Coordination and Resources departments.
* Ensure that the work is executed according to Wärtsilä Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental guidelines and customer site procedures.
* Inspect completed work to ensure that repairs have been finalized correctly and that machinery and equipment are compliant to specifications and safety standards.
* Proactively advise and promote available products and solutions to customers. Perform site audits, supporting our sales departments too.
* Keep track of work details and provide detailed reports, including all necessary details (measurements, photos, way of working, investigations, etc.).
* Perform internal and external progress reporting on the status of assigned work. Keep track and provide the accounting of time, together with the spare parts to be used.
* Prepare technical and travel reports on time, with the collection of the expected documentation according to Wärtsilä quality. To be written in English.
* Ready to travel on short notice. Away from home more than 80% of the working time.
* The tasks can also be adjusted based on your individual skills and interests. You’ll be working as a part of a team with diverse expertise.
Requirements for the position
* Electrical and automation technical knowledge, communication nets and interfaces, sensors, actuators, auxiliary equipment.
* Good reading and writing skills in English.
* Ability to travel, to work abroad and on board of sailing vessels.
* Ready to travel around 70% of the time.
* Motivated to learn in classroom/field trainings and quickly grow professionally.
* Ability to work in a team, follow directives and deal with people of different nationalities and cultures.
As an ideal candidate you might also have…
* Technical high school diploma in electrics, electronics, automation.
* Previous experiences in similar roles or sailing while working in vessel’s engine rooms.
* PLC programming, SCADA systems knowledge.
