For a prestigious Multinational Company operating in the automotive field, we are searching for:
Functional Safety Engineer - Electronic HW
The Functional Safety - Hardware Engineer will be responsible for defining and completing Functional Safety work products related to electronic HW, performing functional safety analysis of internally designed hardware sub-systems.
Tasks and Responsibilities:
* Work with the electronic hardware/firmware design architects to define specific hardware/firmware safety requirements.
* Support hardware/firmware architectural design with functional safety analysis methods (FTA, DFA, FMEDA, and FMEA).
* Support implementation of technical safety requirements at the hardware/firmware level.
* Support the electronic hardware team in getting FIT rates for hardware components.
* Develop verification and validation methods to support testing of hardware/firmware safety mechanisms.
* Define test procedures and support testing of hardware sub-systems.
* Document all relevant safety requirements, analysis, architecture implementation, verification, and validation for each sub-system.
Skills:
* Master's degree in Electronic/Electric Engineering or equivalent.
* Solid experience in the automotive field or equivalent industries.
* Knowledge of control systems and embedded software development.
* Knowledge of microcontrollers, driver ICs, and communication interfaces (e.g., CAN, LIN, Ethernet).
* Knowledge in designing electronic safety-critical systems with redundancy and fail-safe mechanisms.
* Knowledge of Requirements and SW development management tools (e.g., Confluence and Jira).
* Knowledge and experience in ISO 26262, specifically of parts 5, 6, 8, 9, and 11, would be preferred.
* Knowledge of tools and methodologies for safety analyses (e.g., FTA - Fault Tree Analysis, FMEA - Failure Mode Effect Analysis, FMEDA - Failure modes, effects, and diagnostic analysis, DFA – Dependent Failure Analysis) would be preferred.
* Analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Interpersonal skills and ability to work with cross-functional teams.
* Organizational and time management skills.
* Fluent in English, with strong communication and presentation skills.
