WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
For our Iveco Defence Vehicles and Astra business units, we are looking for a Supplier Quality Engineer Manager who will be responsible for managing and continuously improving supplier quality within the company's supply chain. This key role will ensure that suppliers meet the quality, safety and compliance requirements of the defence sector, working closely with internal teams to ensure that the components and materials received meet the required standards.
Main Responsibilities:
* Develop, implement, and manage supplier quality strategies.
* Evaluate, select, and qualify new suppliers in collaboration with procurement and engineering teams.
* Conduct supplier quality audits to verify compliance with ISO 9001, AQAP 2110, AS9100, and other defence-specific standards.
* Monitor and improve supplier performance through KPIs and data analysis, implementing corrective and preventive actions as needed.
* Collaborate with engineering teams to manage non-conformities of purchased materials, developing action plans to resolve quality issues.
* Support inspection and testing activities, ensuring traceability and compliance of supplied materials.
* Lead continuous improvement programs with suppliers using methodologies such as Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma.
* Coordinate First Article Inspection (FAI) activities according to AS9102.
* Ensure compliance with safety, ITAR/EAR requirements, and industry-specific regulations.
Required Qualifications:
* Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
* Minimum of 5-10 years of experience in Supplier Quality, preferably in Defence, Aerospace, or Automotive sectors.
* Strong knowledge of quality standards and management systems such as ISO 9001, AQAP 2110, AS9100, NADCAP.
* Experience in conducting second-party audits and supplier certification.
* Availability to travel (30% to 50% of working hours), both nationally and internationally.
* Familiarity with Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, and problem-solving tools (8D, Ishikawa, FMEA).
Skills:
* Knowledge of manufacturing specifications and special processes (materials, weldments, heat treatments, machining, coatings, electronics, etc.).
* Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, GD&T, and quality specifications.
* Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills for managing suppliers and internal functions.
* Proficiency in English (written and spoken).
