OVERALL PURPOSE OF THE JOB
Responsible for effectively developing and maintaining the management of all functions related to materials: transportation, reception, storage, inventory control, and corresponding procedures; supervising the assigned human and material team for this purpose.
Ensure customer deliveries and reception of raw materials in the required quantity and time.
SCOPE OF THE POSITION
Coordinate the management of the Logistics and Materials department of the Melfi plant, both in terms of process and resources.
Responsibilities:
• Represent the materials department in management meetings.
• Define and hire or acquire the necessary equipment for the loading, unloading, movement, and storage of materials.
• Establish the most suitable methods for material storage and movement.
Ensure the most effective management of material, FGI and resources in line with the Plant target
Support the Plant in OIP task achievement
• Manage the most cost-effective transportation routes, both for procurement and shipments, seeking opportunities to combine and optimize distribution routes and consolidation warehouses.
• Define and maintain the inventory of raw materials necessary for production supply.
• Implement a material management system that integrates supplier deliveries with production requirements and the established quantity of raw materials.
• Establish and maintain the inventory of finished products necessary for customer supply.
• Train, motivate, and ensure the proper performance of employees under your supervision.
• Determine the department's annual budget and ensure its compliance.
• Monitor, implement, and adapt Corporation policies regarding your area of responsibility.
• Collaborate in planning and developing procedures and objectives.
• Maintain an effective communication system regarding materials and shipments, both within the company and with customers and suppliers; managing and reporting necessary information to different levels of the company.
• Collaborate with other departments in implementing Engineering changes and launching new products or ending their production.
• Develop and maintain relationships with supplier representatives.
• Promote visual management and FIFO (First In, First Out) in the factory.
• Ensure the updating of databases and systems related to materials management.
• Ensure compliance with Safety and Health regulations in your area of competence. Follow all Safety and Environmental regulations defined in work instructions or communicated through training.
• Take necessary measures for prevention and control of operations.
• Report all accidents, occupational diseases, and emergencies.
• Ensure communication of Customs incidents to Lear Corporation's central customs department (in Grugliasco).
• In addition to the mentioned tasks, perform other activities and responsibilities assigned individually.
Requirements:
• At least 5 years of experience in the logistics department.
• At least 2 years of experience in leading teams.
• Fluent in English.
• Advanced knowledge of MS Office.
• University education in the field of Engineering of Industrial Organizations or a similar field.
