Offer Description
The project will focus on the optimal exploitation of the Euclid spectroscopic data, in the framework of galaxy evolution studies. The successful applicant will help the spectroscopic group in Bologna with the exploration, validation and analysis of the Euclid dataset, and contribute to the activities of the HORIZON-EU program ELSA. The main scientific goals will be agreed upon with the successful applicant and may include:
1. The study of scaling relations as a function of redshift, morphology, and environment, also by means of stacking techniques.
2. The feasibility assessment of combining Euclid spectroscopic and photometric data to extract a wide range of physical parameters, providing a complete understanding of the physical and chemical properties of the galaxies observed by Euclid.
3. The comparison between different SFR estimators.
4. The comparison of the observational results to state-of-the-art theoretical models.
Applicants are encouraged to submit their own project plan.
