Join Brindisi R&D team as a Fermentation Lab Scientist: you will make a key contribution in Fermentation Laboratory. Your Responsibilities You will be trained on: Process optimization and new fermentation process development according to the company’s needs. Scale-up, at intermediate and/or full industrial level, antibiotic, polysaccharides, and recombinant protein processes. Troubleshooting of manufacturing campaigns. Execute and support microbial fermentation-related projects including development of new processes, troubleshooting, and improving production processes. Handle, set up and follow the processes in a laboratory equipped with about 14 fully automated fermenters. Rigorous quality control of fermentation experiments, under strict respect of HSE requirements and compiling the associated documentation (standard operating procedures, operating manuals, and batch production records). Analyze and write scientific reports on the experiment’s results. Work closely with other R&D teams and Production department to carry on different projects. We offer a six-month internship and we are looking for someone to join as soon as possible. The EUROAPI Italy facility is a vast production site with over 240 workers located in the industrial area of Brindisi with a history dating back to 1966. EUROAPI Italy is specialized in the development and manufacturing of Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (APIs), including antibiotics, corticosteroids, and other intermediates by large scale fermentation under GMP conditions. Our Requirements Master’s degree in Biotechnology, Biology or equivalent. A Ph.D. in related fields is preferable. Knowledge of online analytical technologies to be applied in the monitoring of fermentation processes. Understanding of microbial metabolism, physiology, and nutritional requirements. Good problem-solving attitude. Good written and oral communication skills. Fluent English (written and spoken) is also required.
