Accountabilities Review and set up obsolescence management processes in accordance with European standard EN62402. Define the necessary tools and process improvements and supervise their implementation. Define, develop and maintain effective obsolescence plans and strategic life cycle management of both internally designed components and externally designed components/systems. Develop obsolescence management plans and monitor and report component obsolescence status. With procurement and the supply chain, develop obsolescence management capabilities in suppliers through obsolescence management plans, periodic monitoring, and verification audits. Review incoming obsolescence notices from external sources and identify necessary actions. Prepare periodic reports on project obsolescence, including performance indicators. Identify obsolete material and potential replacement parts by coordinating engineering, industrial, and supply chain actions. Perform impact and risk assessments in the use of alternative components in customer systems. Ensure project documentation is updated after the adoption of alternative components. Create FFF and obsolescence declarations to inform customers and confirm the suitability of alternative components. Perform forecasts and estimates of warehouse stock consumption in the absence of any alternative. Required Skills/Knowledge Pioneering Spirit. Integrity. Two to five years’ experience as a designer in Signal/Power Electronic, Electrical, or Mechanical in railway system engineering. Experience and knowledge of the integrated systems that comprise trains and metro systems. Ability to develop a working knowledge of technical products, processes, applications. Knowledge and experience in application of railway Technical-Logistic support documentation associated with any technical system, either rolling stock and/or a rail vehicle. Knowledge and ability to review design documentation from sub-suppliers. Techniques and ways to handle relationships with suppliers in an integrated supply chain approach. Excellent communication skills. Negotiation Skills. Experience in modern Lean and Agile Organization. Desired Skills/Knowledge Team-working attitude. Flexibility. Result orientation. Analytic approach. Readiness to travel occasionally. Experience in modern Lean and Agile Organization. Knowledge of the Obsolescence process and Standard EN62402 is a preferential title.
