Application period: 13-Feb-2025 to 19-Feb-2025Functional Responsibilities:The Senior Project Manager will oversee the entire lifecycle of this project, including planning and design, sourcing of relevant service providers, ensuring timely delivery and execution, compliance with regulatory standards, and alignment with UN and donor objectives.Under the overall admin supervision of UNOPS Programme Manager, the Senior Project Manager (Construction) will lead all aspects of project management, including planning, execution, monitoring, and governance. He / She must be able to undertake independently the following tasks:Project Delivery and Performance:Develop, implement, and update comprehensive project plans with clear milestones.Ensure integration of sustainability dimensions (social, gender, environmental, and economic) into all phases of the project.Oversee procurement and vendor management to ensure alignment with UN standards.Governance and Documentation:Establish and implement the governance structure for project oversight, defining roles, responsibilities, and reporting mechanisms.Draft and finalize all Terms of Reference (TORs) and Scopes of Work (SOWs) for sub-projects and procurement activities.Develop TORs to identify and onboard a consultancy firm to create a Capital Master Plan for UNGSC.Monitoring and Reporting:Create and present regular progress reports to key stakeholders.Ensure effective cost, schedule, and quality control throughout the project.Stakeholder Engagement:Maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders.Develop and execute a stakeholder communication strategy to ensure transparency and alignment.Quality Assurance:Ensure compliance with international standards.Conduct regular audits and quality checks to maintain project integrity.Knowledge Management and Innovation:Document lessons learned and best practices to inform future projects.Facilitate capacity-building initiatives for project staff and stakeholders.The Senior Project Manager's performance will be evaluated based on:Timely completion of milestones within budget.Quality and accuracy of TORs, SOWs, and project deliverables.Effectiveness of governance and stakeholder engagement strategies.Education/Experience/Language requirements:*FEMALE CANDIDATES ARE STRONGLY ENCOURAGED TO APPLY.*CANDIDATES WITH NO UNITED NATIONS OR UNOPS EXPERIENCE ARE STRONGLY ENCOURAGED TO APPLY.Education:Advanced University Degree (Master's Degree or equivalent) preferably in Architecture, Engineering, Project Management or other relevant field with seven (7) years of relevant experience is required or:A first-level university degree (Bachelor's degree) in the above mentioned field of study, with nine (9) years of relevant work experience will be given due consideration.PRINCE2 Certification or PMP is mandatory.Work Experience required:Relevant experience is defined as experience in project management.Minimum of 5 years managing complex infrastructure projects.Minimum of 3 years managing teams and contractors.Minimum of 2 years of contract management experience.Desirable experience: (the following experience is optional; candidates who do not have it are welcome to apply):Experience with international Organizations, public procurement processes, and Fédération Internationale des Ingénieurs-Conseils (FIDIC) contracts.Working experience in implementing and delivering projects for international organizations.Languages:Fluency in English (write, read, speak) is required.Knowledge of another official United Nations language is an asset.Think big.
