What will you do as Product Software Engineer?
You will immediately get exposure to a variety of technologies, development teams, tools, and processes. As part of a Scrum team, you will benefit from the collaboration with the other members, participating in the software creation, the estimation of the development time, the development itself and the integration stages.
Our core software engineering department is based in Lucca where all the teams are working closely together in developing our products for our major industries such as banking, insurance, automotive and food and beverage. Every team consists of a QA engineer and 5/6 software engineers. We strongly believe in the Agile way of working and the Scrum methodology has really been embedded in our daily work. We leverage teamwork, self-organization and proactivity as the best solution comes from collective intelligence and collaborative decision making.
Responsibilities:
1. Collaborate with the team to develop, maintain, enhance, and extend features of the product.
2. Triage, troubleshoot, and resolve product software issues working with Customer Support, other development teams, and Product Management.
3. Contribute to recognize patterns of issues and potential root causes, and advocate for investigation and/or holistic fixes.
4. Collaborate in examining operational activities and technology debt scenarios that would benefit from new ideas or automation.
5. Contribute to push for approaches that drive quality and productivity.
You have:
1. Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science or equivalent field.
2. Working experience in software development, including knowledge of object-oriented programming languages such as Java (preferred), C#.
3. As an alternative, or as a much-welcomed addition, having experience on more Frontend oriented technologies, such as JavaScript, Typescript, with a focus on Angular 2+ Framework.
4. Knowledge of test practices, such as unit testing, and their automation, or Design Patterns, SOLID and Clean Code Principles.
5. Fluency in Italian and good knowledge of English.
It is better if you also have knowledge of the following:
1. Relational and NoSQL databases.
2. API design and REST principles.
3. SDLC tools like Jira, GIT, IntelliJ, Maven, npm and CI/CD practices.
4. Virtualization and orchestration technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes.
