RINA is currently recruiting for a Railways & Mass Transit - Mechanical Engineer to join its office in Genoa, or Rome, or Naples or Lecce, Italywithin the Transport & Mobility Division.
Mission
This role focuses on ensuring the correct functioning and reliability of ventilation systems in tunnels and buildings for the railway/metro/road design and construction projects while adhering to current regulations and Rina's quality standards.
Key Accountabilities
1. Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on rail and road tunnel and building ventilation and safety systems.
2. Identify and resolve mechanical and electrical faults and malfunctions.
3. Oversee and participate in the design for installation of new systems and the upgrade of existing ones, ensuring proper sizing, configuration and commissioning.
4. Conduct periodic tests and inspections to ensure systems meet safety and quality standards.
5. Prepare and maintain up-to-date technical documentation for the work performed, including maintenance reports and operational manuals.
6. Work closely with other departments, such as civil (structural) and system design and Work Supervision, to ensure effective system integration and functionality. #LI-AC2
Education
Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Engineering General
Qualifications
7. Experience in the railway/metro/tram/road infrastructure sector with a focus on ventilation and safety systems.
8. In-depth knowledge of MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) ventilation, and proficiency with design tools (i.e: fulidynamics calculation tools)
9. Knowledge of Drainage design and design tools is a plus, as well as Conditioning ones.
10. Familiarity with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) and the ability to use computerized diagnostic tools.
11. Good knowledge of both written and spoken English.
