Assignment Description The Offshore Hook-Up & Commissioning Project Engineer is a key member of the Client's Hook-Up & Commissioning Team who will provide an important supporting role to ensure the success of the planning and execution. The expertise provided by this individual will ensure the CGS leaves Argentia well prepared to ensure success in the offshore execution. Reporting to the Offshore Hook-Up & Commissioning Manager, this position is responsible for the overall coordination of the Offshore HUC contractors Engineering and subcontract scopes in support of the planning phase of the offshore Hook-Up and Commissioning of the Project. This position will be integral in the monitoring of key activities during the planning phase, with responsibility for various site preparedness activities, through to execution of the Offshore scope of work. This position requires a thorough understanding of and prior experience in work planning and execution in the NL offshore area. Responsibilities: Safety: Be a leader in safety and protecting the environment. Act as a safety champion by promoting safety awareness and safe performance among colleagues, Project teams, and contractors at all times. Contribute to safety program, health and environment protection, reliability and efficiency to achieve world-class performance of the Client's strategies. Actively participate in both behavioral-based safety and site safety walk programs. Ensure compliance with Project Specifications, applicable codes and CNLOPB requirements. Responsible for coordination with Hook-up contractor on the various sub-project scopes of work with respect to the development of Engineering deliverables; monitor the issuance of third party and fabricator subcontracts, ensuring technical completeness while maintaining schedule and cost control. Development and management of HUC contractor Change Requests. Responsible for oversight of progress of all Offshore Hook-Up & Commissioning deliverables – acting as lead reviewer for contractor issued documentation. Management of the contractor MDR. Coordinate the submission, review and response to formal project Site Queries and Interfaces, both internal and external. Participate in SIMOPS planning within the Hook-Up & Commissioning team, working with external interfaces as well as within the project team to develop an overall plan for transition to operations offshore. Assist with interface and management of cross-project scopes with various teams such as Subsea and Marine. Site Preparations Prior to Offshore Execution: Ensure all preparation works at the CGS yard are completed per the associated work packs, with all equipment and materials identified and staged/stored in the applicable location. Work with HUC contractor and Operations to ensure all permits are prepared prior to sailaway and isolations are in place. Key participant in the CGS readiness review prior to sailaway. Continue overall coordination of technical items that arise during the offshore Hook-up phase such as Site Queries, Technical Queries, etc. Management of Change Requests that arise during the offshore Hook-up and Commissioning. Assist with overall handover of platform systems to Operations. Preparation and issuance of various Client's internal project philosophies and guidelines related to Offshore HUC as necessary during the planning and execution phase. Qualifications: Registered Professional Engineer – P. Eng. in the province of Newfoundland & Labrador. 15 years experience in either a project or operational capacity in the NL offshore area. Well-rounded Structural, Mechanical, I&C, and Electrical knowledge. Familiarity with the NL offshore area regulatory requirements. Able to complete Offshore Survival Training for the NL Offshore area. Computer literate, familiar with MS Office suite of software. High Energy Levels.
