Control Systems Specialist
The Controls Systems Specialist (CSS) will ensure that Safety comes first in all Facilities efforts. This position will be responsible to manage projects and provide technical expertise for the controls topics of new and operational Material Handling Equipment & MechLite Automation systems (MHE & MLA), design/implement/document control solutions for material handling systems, act as a liaison for internal and external resources. This position requires strong technical controls systems knowledge, project management skills, effective communication skills, be self-directed, and have the ability to multi-task and deliver results in a dynamic environment.
Responsibilities:
• Perform Siemens PLC control level issue diagnosis in TIA portal (ST and LD languages) and WinCC and facilitate failure analysis & incident review processes. Implement process improvements to avoid reoccurrences. Be responsible for incident follow-up, root cause analysis and documentation.
• Follow change management process and develop ad-hoc PLC code changes.
• Familiarization with Siemens PLC processers and input/output modules.
• Use SeeElectrical P8 to review, develop and maintain electrical schematic and conveyor layout drawings.
• Work with OpsTech IT, RME Automation Engineering and Field Engineering to develop and update controls knowledge and training document for the facilities team.
• Understand, maintain and troubleshoot material handling control systems, including PLC/PC controllers and industrial networks: Profinet, OPC UA, MQTT, control systems, servo drives, frequency drives, and electrical distribution systems.
• Provide expertise on controls topics for the assigned projects for new equipment or continuous improvement of the legacy ones.
• Be responsible for incident follow-up, root cause analysis and documentation.
• Actively participate in local or network level control projects and Kaizens. Up to 25-40% of travel may be required. vetrinabakeca
