Main Objective:
The Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner (ARNP) or Physician Assistant (PA) will be responsible for providing primary care diagnosis, treatment, consultation, and follow-up under the supervision of the lead physician. The advanced practice provider will have an emphasis and background in preventative and lifestyle medicine.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
* Evaluating patients, assisting in coordinating medical care, counseling, and educating employees/patients, and reviewing test results.
* Working in an independent and interdependent relationship with members of the medical staff for consultation, collaboration, or referral.
* Providing telephonic on-call support after hours.
* Responsible for the diagnosis and treatment of acute, chronic, and long-term healthcare issues, including identifying cardiovascular disease and implementing risk reduction strategies.
* Educating patients and/or families about preventive care, medical issues, and the use of prescribed medical treatments and/or medications.
* Maintaining legible, accurate, and confidential medical records, documenting all medical evaluations, diagnoses, procedures, treatment, outcomes, education, referrals, and consultations consistent with NCQA and JCAHO standards.
* Facilitating evaluation of records by physician(s), peers, and receiving and implementing constructive directives.
* Analyzing new knowledge gained from conferences, workshops, professional literature, or hands-on training and assimilating this knowledge into clinical practice.
* Implementing programs that will help contain healthcare costs, with a focus on diagnosing and treating diabetes and helping members with chronic disease maintain compliance and improve their overall well-being.
* Utilizing electronic medical records comfortably and accurately.
* Interacting professionally with offsite medical providers for referral generation and tracking.
* Developing and implementing preventive medicine, health promotion, employee screening, and education initiatives.
* Working within the scope of the Florida Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant Guidelines and Arthrex Family Medical Center protocols.
* Performing complex administrative and office-related activities requiring considerable judgment, high initiative, and independent action.
* Supporting and encouraging all corporate health initiatives and wellness programs.
* Being able to work at all AMC locations if necessary.
* All other duties as assigned.
