Position Summary
Villanova University invites applications for adjunct faculty positions to support a residential certificate designed for highly motivated young adults with learning challenges and other special needs, focusing on academic, vocational, and spiritual development. We are seeking qualified individuals to design the curriculum and/or teach in this new program.

* Adult Sexuality
* Personal Finance
* Introduction to Human Services
* Vocational Skills, Interviewing, Resume Writing
* Introduction to the Medical World
* Introduction to the Legal System
* Consumer Education
* Cooking and Food Lab
* Introduction to Geriatric Studies
* Religious Studies, Practices, Matters of Faith
* Social Issues for People with Special Needs
* Art, Creative Writing, and Film
Duties and Responsibilities
* Develop and administer substantive course content.
* Develop and administer assignments and other activities that accurately assess the students’ learning and provide timely feedback on any such assignments.
* Create a syllabus that meets Program and CPS requirements.
* Prepare and submit accurate attendance rosters, student grades, book orders, leave reports, and/or other assigned documents when due.
* Learn and effectively utilize CPS digital resources such as Blackboard and Novasis to administer tests, record attendance, and submit grades.
* Hold classes on time and for the full duration of the published class time.
* Conduct in a professional manner all class hours as assigned by the course schedule and academic calendar.
* Attend CPS faculty meetings (typically once per semester).
* Support and adhere to all CPS policies and procedures.
Minimum Qualifications
* Bachelor’s degree required.
* Recent experience working with individuals with intellectual disabilities and other learning challenges and special needs.
* Excellent oral and written communication skills.
* Excellent organizational skills.
* Ability to assess student learning through testing, presentations, and in-class simulations.
* Ability to teach adult students using methods that promote engaged learning.
* Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
Preferred Qualifications
* Master’s or Doctoral degree in Education, Special Education, Counseling, Social Work or related field preferred.
