A dynamic and rapidly growing aerospace company in the sector, with a strong commitment to innovation and excellence, is seeking an AIT Technician to support daily operations. The role focuses on assembly, integration, and testing (AIT) of satellites, particularly small satellites.
About the Role
As an aerospace technician, the candidate will become part of a collaborative team to perform AIT activities, including mechanical and electrical assembly, integration, wiring production, and facilitating performance testing at both the satellite component subsystem level and the system level.
Key Responsibilities
* Perform receipt inspection, preparation (kitting), assembly/installation of equipment/components for testing and/or flight configuration.
* Understand technical documentation and work according to company procedures and technical drawings.
* Prepare, handle, apply, and dispose of chemicals such as thermal fillers, various types of epoxy resins, flammable liquids, etc.
* Produce wiring such as cable assemblies for both terrestrial and space applications.
* Calibrate and correctly use: dynamometric tools/crimping tools (mechanical and wiring) and required laboratory hardware.
* Keep integration areas (tools, toolboxes, workstations, etc.) clean and organized, adhering to company policy.
* Operate manual tools such as screwdrivers, torque wrenches, tweezers, scissors, etc.
* Use machining tools/facilities for small fabrications, modifications, and rework.
* Soldering for cable assemblies and small PCB rework.
* Assist in the flight integration activities of the spacecraft.
* Assess proposed designs for manufacturability and integration into subsystems.
* Interface with engineers and technicians to transition to large-scale production and automation.
* Develop and refine manufacturing and assembly procedures based on lessons learned to mature processes.
* Provide support for in-house or third-party environmental testing campaigns (TVAC, vibration, acoustics, EMI/EMC, etc.) for company products at both subsystem and system levels.
* Perform other tasks/responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
* Experience in a production environment with mechanical and electronic assemblies.
* Ability to read, understand, and follow detailed work instructions for flight module testing.
* Aerospace industry experience is preferred but not mandatory.
* Proficiency with a variety of testing equipment, including power supplies, DC loads, DAQ, and test cabling.
* Desired experience in one of the following areas:
o Cleanroom and electrostatic discharge (ESD) protection work
o Detailed assembly and mounting work
o Understanding of technical documentation
o Handling of chemicals and hazardous materials
o Handling and soldering of electrical components
o Harnessing methods
o Inspections of critical electronic/electrical/electromechanical hardware
o Meticulous attention to detail and documentation
o Troubleshooting skills to identify and resolve technical challenges
o Strong communication skills with the ability to provide and receive constructive feedback
o Fluent knowledge of English (oral and written) is required.
o Possession of a valid driver's license (Category B).
