Job Description:
Pisa Research Center, a key hub within our client, leads innovation in digital energy and electric vehicle technologies. They are expanding their team and are looking for an Operating System Engineer to develop low-level drivers and system mechanisms.
This is a fully onsite position in Pisa and you should have full right to work in the EU / Italy.
Role & Responsibilities
* Design and optimize RTOS kernel components and device drivers for industrial applications.
* Conduct low-level performance analysis and optimization of CPUs, GPUs, and embedded hardware.
Key Requirements:
* M.Sc. or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Computer, or Electronic Engineering.
* Strong C/C++ and Assembly programming skills.
* Experience with POSIX OS programming (e.g., Linux).
* Knowledge of real-time and parallel concurrent programming.
* Expertise in RTOS, device driver development, and embedded system optimization.
* Familiarity with industrial communication protocols and computer architecture concepts (MPU, MMU, virtualization).
* Strong problem-solving, collaboration, and communication skills.
* Fluency in English and ability to work in a multicultural environment.
Desirable Qualifications:
* Knowledge of PV and ESS systems in the energy domain.
* Experience with ARM or RISC-V processors.
* Familiarity with safety standards (ISO26262, IEC61508, MISRA C).
* Experience with hardware debuggers (e.g., Lauterbach, JLink).
* Understanding of AUTOSAR Classic and related development tools.
* Experience with unit testing and test automation (e.g., CUnit, Googletest).
