The candidate will become part of the NX Engineering District of Catania having the opportunity to work on innovative and novel technologies to fully enable the energy transition.
Junior Mechanical Engineer
As a mechanical engineer, you apply mechanical knowledge and deliver services during the design, construction, and commissioning of new urea, nitric acid plants and/or ammonia (with a focus on Urea and Nitric Acid).
Main activities and responsibilities:
1. Mechanical engineering deliverables with respect to Process Design Packages (PDP) for newly licensed Stamicarbon technologies;
2. Provide creative solutions in mechanical and equipment design, update Mechanical Engineering Design Manuals, General Specifications, and standard equipment data sheets;
3. Support continuous improvement by evaluating realized projects;
4. Ensure that the supply of deliverables and services are in accordance with the defined scope of work and delivery schedule in the contract;
5. Work on parallel different phased projects as a team member of multi-disciplinary teams;
6. Plan your own activities in consultation with (internal) customers, Sales Manager, Project Manager, and team members.
The Candidate:
1. You are a communicative, result-oriented team player with a high standard for quality;
2. Experience in international engineering business with core knowledge in design and manufacturing of pressure vessels and piping systems;
3. Higher vocational / Academic level in Mechanical Engineering;
4. Good command of written and spoken English.
Following skills are considered to be a plus:
1. Knowledge on fabrication technologies on equipment and applications in chemical plants;
2. Knowledge of materials and degradation phenomena;
3. Knowledge of mechanical calculation tools e.g. PV Elite or DIMy;
4. Knowledge of related fields e.g. PFD’s, P&IDs, isometrics;
5. Knowledge of ESA/HAZOP studies;
