Projects could include the approval of new building, conversion, and existing vessels and yachts.Key AccountabilitiesReview and approve drawings of electrical and automation systems, encompassing autonomous ship technology and cyber security, on ships, offshore units, and marine equipment, in adherence to Class Rules and Statutory Regulations.Provide support for the detailed marine engineering plan review, ensuring compliance with relevant RINA rules, international conventions, and contractual obligations.Take ownership and responsibility for the financial progress of assigned tasks, oversee project elements on a day-to-day basis, visit sites for measurements, and prepare project deliverables such as technical reports, project performance documentation, and engineering drawings.Apply project management concepts, provide feedback to project managers, escalate issues when necessary, manage simple projects, assess minor structural problems, and act as a liaison between engineering and construction teams.EducationBachelor’s Degree in Electrical EngineeringMaster’s DegreeQualificationsRequired Qualifications:1 year of experience in the electrical engineering field, particularly with maritime electrical systems or in a technical consultancy environment.Solid understanding of electrical regulations and standards (e.g., IEC, ABS, IMO) for ships and maritime operations.Knowledge of electrical plan approval processes within the maritime industry.Experience in evaluating electrical plans and drawings for marine vessels.Familiarity with the use of electrical simulation tools and design software.Proficiency in creating detailed reports and documentation.Strong analytical skills to identify potential electrical system issues.Ability to collaborate with internal teams and clients.A solid understanding of electrical systems on board ships.With over 5,800 employees and 200 offices in 70 countries worldwide, RINA provides certification, marine classification, product testing, site supervision and vendor inspection, training and engineering consultancy services across a wide range of sectors.
