GENERAL PURPOSE
Lead and manage a team of Supply Management professionals. Identify, develop and implement supplier and product value stream improvement initiatives with assigned suppliers or commodities to include New Product sourcing supporting the New Product development team. This work is accomplished through effective use and support of the Strategic Sourcing process, Cost Targeting, Supplier Performance Management. Collaboration with planning, Supplier Development and Value Analysis/Value Engineering (VAVE) processes.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
1. Assure team members understand expected results and the work processes required to achieve expected results. Maintain understanding of actual vs. target achievement for each individual contributor and support them in closing gaps.
2. Develop and maintain Human Development for each direct report which lists the most important training needs necessary to improve performance in current job.
3. Perform work of direct reports when required to meet process or learning targets.
4. Based on facts observable on the shop floor, achieve agreement with supplier on current cost elements, uses understanding of the MillerKnoll Performance System (MKPS) to build targets for future attainment.
5. Communicate and apply quality and engineering concepts at a high level with both internal and external resources, as required.
6. Cross-functional leadership in the process of conducting strategic sourcing for items or commodities.
7. Demonstrated application of lean manufacturing. Process and implement, without coaching, change-over, standard work, and material and information flow to highlight problems.
8. Develop and implement contracts.
9. Identify opportunities and collaborate with engineers and suppliers to implement improvements (VAVE).
10. Lead and manage the professional Supply Management team in region.
11. Support New product development sourcing, make vs buy activities and supplier readiness for new commercial products within the region.
12. Perform additional responsibilities as requested.
13. Responsible for relationship management. Successfully align suppliers' operating plans to achieve MillerKnoll objectives and more directly support of Knoll two operating plants in Italy and purchased finished goods supply.
14. Responsible for spends for at least $700,000 in annual cost savings.
15. Regional travel within UK, Europe and Italy expected. Could include international travel.
16. Understand and apply formal project management principles to work, as appropriate. Influence others to meet milestones and coordinate work of others. Lead cross-functional project teams.
17. Use market analysis to understand global influences to the supply base and create strategies to leverage these dynamics for MillerKnoll's benefit.
18. Work may cross countries or global regions. Successfully build and maintain contracts and relationships which span country and/or regional borders.
QUALIFICATIONS

Education/Experience
1. Bachelor's Degree in business, materials management, finance, engineering or operations management required.
2. Master's Degree preferred; CPM (Certified Purchasing Manager) desired or regional equivalent.
3. Minimum of 6 years in a professional procurement role with exposure to a variety of manufacturing processes and commodities.
4. Minimum 3 years experience in managing professionals preferred.
5. Working knowledge of all aspects of business operations, including Finance, Accounting, Legal, Manufacturing, Materials Management, Engineering, Quality, etc.
6. Demonstrated ability to do complex cost analysis and to apply MKPS thinking to supplier process and value streams.
7. Highly developed verbal and written communication skill in English and Italian.
8. Understanding of prepared financial statements; ability to interpret and assign meaning to income statements, cash flow statements, and balance sheets.
9. Skilled at working with individuals at various organizational levels within and outside of MillerKnoll.
10. Ability to think and act quickly, creatively and independently to resolve major supply disruptions affecting customers.
11. Ability to hold one's ground when defending a sourcing issue with either internal or external people.
12. Demonstrated ability to effectively use office automation/communication software and tools currently being used in the HMI office environment.
13. Must be able to perform all essential functions of the position with or without accommodations.
