This role pertains to our marinas in Italy and reports to the HSE director within the Operations business unit.
Role Purpose
Drive D-Marin Group HS&E strategic planning and policy standard development. Provide expertise, advice and support to local market teams, in identifying and managing HS&E risks, implementing global polices/standards and instigating and maintaining governance/reporting processes.
Role Accountabilities (Financial, customer, operational, KPI’s etc.)
* Working with stakeholders to implement D-Marin HS&E Group strategy into a roadmap of priorities which aligns functions/local marina operations
* Coordinate multiple operational and sales team members
* Overall supervision and compliance of the Company’s HS&E systems, contributing to the retention of the group certifications and accreditation schemes
* Keep up to date with changes in current legislation and implement such changes where relevant.
* Manage HSE plans, identify potential hazards, perform risk assessments and develop control measures over the full width of activities of the company including offices, Marinas and boatyards and the relevant operations
* Timely report HSE issues as per internal communication protocol and follow up on corrective and preventive actions initiated
* Support local teams to undertake investigations and escalation of incidents/issues, following Group HS&E incident reporting and analysis processes
* Recommend & implement control measures and advise on the standard of P.P.E. and instructions issued to employees.
* Identify training needs and propose relevant programs
* Organize HSE trainings for staff as required and develop relevant training materials as needed making sure they are aware of the importance and follow HS&E protocols and relevant policies
* Ensure metrics and established KPI’s are monitored as required
* Facilitate the rollout of group-wide initiatives within assigned marinas.
* Benchmark HS&E effectiveness by conducting ad hoc inspections, internal and compliance audits at marinas, boatyards and other sites; report on findings and follow up on actions agreed through to completion.
Key skills/behaviors
* Previous experience in a H&S managerial role is essential (min 5yrs) ideally with practical maritime or marina’s experience
* Previous multi-site experience will be highly appreciated
* Qualification in occupational health and safety, such as a master, NEBOSH, lead auditor or national diploma is essential
* Experience with ISO certification (ISO-9001, ISO-14001, ISO-45001 and ISO-50001)
* Experience with Ecovadis, SBTi, or other sustainability schemes is a plus
* Persuasive, assertive, articulate, challenging bold and pragmatic
* Strong organizational or administrative skills with attention to detail and a methodical approach.
* IT literate and a comprehensive understanding of Windows based programs to include Word, Excel and Outlook is essential.
* Ability to travel domestically & internationally
* Ability to work remotely without supervision
