We work in a collaborative and inspiring culture where personal contribution is rewarded; growth and development are at the heart of our culture.We are seeking an Experienced Process Modeling EngineerMain Responsibilities:The profile will work in the RD division and specifically within the Calorimetry and Process Engineering Team made by 10 people, composed by Chemical Engineers and Synthetic Chemists with the objectives of assessing reactions and processes harzard, process engineering optimization in collaboration with projects lead chemists and industrialization experts, ensuring a successful and right first time delivering to manufacture robust chemical processes for Intermediates and final API. This team will also manage the RD process development of Spray Drying applications that is one of the strategic area of investment and growth for the next coming years.Accountable for:Development of scale-down models enabling the study of unit operations in an RD setting followed by scale-up and technical transfer to pilot / industrial manufacturing with a particular focus on spray drying processes;Drive the technical transfer of chemical processes to manufacturing sites in collaboration with the production and industrialization experts, with a focus on spray drying processes;Apply chemical engineering fundamentals and applied kinetics, thermodynamics, and transport phenomena;Use of mathematical models (both statistical first principles) to enhance process understanding and effectively develop / optimize/ scale-up and troubleshoot processes. Requirements:Degree in chemical engineering required, preferably with 3-5 years of modeling experience in chemical processes. PhD preferred;Experience in at least one of the following simulation areas: Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), Discrete Element Method (DEM), Population Balance Modeling (PBM);Strong programming skills (familiarity with VBA, Python is a plus);Knowledge and experience building mathematical, statistical first principles and hybrid models;Proficiency in statistical, machine learning, and AI methodologies is a plus;Knoweldge of modeling and simulation software packages (e.g. Dynochem, gProms, Aspen+, Ansys Fluent, OpenFoam, MStar);Experience in spray drying modeling would be an advantage.
