Description
Hitachi Rail is looking for an enthusiastic self-motivated Product QA technician who thrives in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate is comfortable performing a wide range of tasks from administrative to strategic. The position is based in Pistoia, Italy.
Accountabilities
* Overviews Product and Service Incidents management, collecting updated information provided by each LoB coordinating crossaction if necessary.
* Collects and archives all gathered information about the Product and Service Incidents.
* Monitors the incident management until closure, guaranteeing appropriate escalation if necessary.
* Ensure on time Incident Report issue toward SHEQ Deputy through LoB Process QA.
* Ensure periodical reporting (weekly/monthly).
* Contributes to identify root causes of the incident and work to assure the continuous improvement process of RSBU products.
* Coordinates and records the information and lessons learned from IRT (Incident Response Team) that has the responsibility of implementing the Business Continuity Plan, in order to face Product and Service Incidents, resume processes and to perform the related activities of continuous quality improvement.
Required Skills:
* Knowledge of railway regulations and standards: Familiarity with national and international regulations related to the safety and quality of railway products. (ISO 9001:2015 /ISO 22163:2023)
* Technical skills: Basic knowledge of materials and technologies used in railway products, such as on-board systems, electrical, and mechanical components.
* Documentation skills: Ability to prepare and manage technical documentation and quality reports.
* Communication and collaboration skills: Ability to work in teams and communicate effectively with other departments and suppliers.
* Use of quality tools: Familiarity with quality management tools and methodologies, such as Ishikawa Diagram (or Fishbone Diagram), 5 Whys, 8D report, FMEA (Failure Mode and Effects Analysis).
* Critical Thinking: Capability to question assumptions and explore different angles of the problem, curiosity.
* Problem Definition: Ability to clearly articulate the problem or issue that needs investigation.
* Analytical Thinking: Strong analytical skills to identify patterns and relationships in the data.
* Willingness to travel: Possibility of travel to suppliers or external sites for short periods, both nationally and internationally.
Desired Skills/ Knowledge:
* Collaboration: Ability to work well with others, promoting a collaborative and inclusive work environment.
* Problem Solving: Skills in finding practical and innovative solutions to identified problems.
* Quality Management Software: Familiarity with specific quality management software like SAP or other quality management tools.
* Knowledge of special processes: Familiarity with the main special processes used, such as bonding, welding, torque tightening, and painting.
Education / Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or similar (Preferably in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Materials Engineering, or Industrial Engineering) or equivalent technical background.
Languages:
English Proficiency (B2 level at least required).
