Position Summary
Are you passionate about managing a Global IT portfolio in a challenging business environment? This position will work with a diverse set of Product Groups globally and provide oversight and transparency to the portfolio of investments that supports planning, decision-making and execution required to deliver on strategic objectives.
This role will be responsible for ensuring all initiatives have an approved budget, defined benefits and consistent portfolio financial elements. You will ensure adoption of portfolio framework across various Product Groups ensuring alignment across multiple global teams.
You will also ensure consistency and optimization of Application Portfolio, closely collaborating with Product and Application Managers.
A Day in the Life of a Senior IT Product Project Portfolio Specialist
Engage with key stakeholders (e.g., Product Group Managers, Zone Functional Relationship Managers, etc.) to define the Project Portfolio and ensure it is in line with the organization's objectives.
Lead reviews of any significant portfolio elements on a periodic basis and on demand.
Provide visibility on trends and forecasts versus plans and provide recommendations as to whether elements should continue as-is, be significantly changed, re-prioritized, placed on hold or discontinued.
E nsure the balance of the required investments and capabilities across teams within the Product/Project Portfolio.
Support activities of the Product Groups in different delivery models.
E nsure adherence to appropriate governance functions relating to the portfolios and in accordance with enterprise guidelines, policies and practices.
Support Product/Project Managers in identifying, prioritizing and coordinating resources engaged with all or many of the initiatives within the Stream Product/Program/Project Portfolio.
Provides Budget Planning & Benefit Realization for the Stream.
Maintain an up-to-date portfolio structure and plans that meet the IT strategy and needs of the organization.
Support the Workforce 360 Stream Operations Manager to track and manage dependencies across multiple projects; lead escalation processes to make issues visible to stakeholders and Leadership Team; drive resolution of dependency issues through the agreed process.
Provide visibility and transparency to key stakeholders in the enterprise about the Stream portfolio value and plans.
Facilitate and coordinate the efforts of the Senior Leadership, Stream Architecture and Product/Project Managers toward the establishment of the Product/Project Portfolio definition, its structure and investments, from demand management and strategic alignment through evaluation, selection and prioritization, to execution, tracking and measuring the achieved value and adoption.
E nsure the management of the Stream Application Portfolio according to IT processes and guidelines, driving portfolio consistency and providing insights to Product Group Managers and Product Managers about opportunities of streamlining and optimizing it.
Support Product Group Managers and Product Managers in the adoption of Product Management best practices according to IT framework and guidelines.
E nsure proper and timely communications and reporting around the Stream Products and Projects portfolios, their content and performance.
What else will make you successful?
1. Bachelor's or master's degree in information systems, business administration or related field, or equivalent work experience
2. 5+ years of experience in a combination of Portfolio Management, Project Management, information and IS/IT jobs - thereof >3 years in managing IT Portfolios
3. Expertise in working with multiple diverse technologies, managing diverse IT portfolios, good understanding of ITIL framework
4. Certification in Management of Portfolios (MOP) will be an added advantage
