Role purpose: As part of the Mobile Access Engineering team of NSE Network Strategy, Architecture & Engineering, the RAN Analysis, Troubleshooting and Terminals Senior Engineer is responsible to provide successfully tested and verified device implementations and solutions to ensure the best Customer Experience in Vodafone Networks in accordance with Global and Market commercial functions, through: Supporting the E2E introduction and troubleshooting of the Mobile Services in Vodafone Markets, with special focus on the implementation on the Terminals’ side and on the interaction between Mobile Networks and Terminals. Supporting the technical validation of the device implementation to ensure the best performance of Mobile Services and Solutions, hence, defining the initial parameterizations and specifications for Vodafone Variant devices in terms of market customized solutions. Managing and troubleshooting technical performance issues and customer complaints along terminal devices life cycle in compliance with global and local market requirements. Meeting Global and Market commercial demands, managing relationship with key stakeholders (Products and Services, Networks, Marketing, Deployment, Quality, Business Units, Devices and Chipset Manufacturers) ensuring full acquiescence to business strategy and continuous evolution of the Terminal Device roadmap. Supporting the ecosystem, tools, and procedures to cope with business and technological evolution, driving to an effective automation of the processes and to the proper reuse of any best practice across the Organization. Key accountabilities and decision ownership: Support to E2E introduction and troubleshooting of Mobile Services, with particular focus on the Terminal implementation and on the interaction between Networks and Terminals. Technical issues troubleshooting, customer complaints resolution. Prototyping, initial parameterization, development, testing and validation of new technologies, features, and services from the Terminal side. Support business and technological evolution ensuring qualified Terminal devices providing the best service performance. Ensuring best practice sharing and relevant stakeholder’s alignment as well as committing to a Tech Comms Company. Key performance indicators: Mobile E2E Services launched as per plans and VF Strategy requirements. Customers’ NPS and Mobile Network KPIs in line with VF ambition. VF leadership in Mobile Benchmarking frameworks as per VF Strategy. Core competencies, knowledge and experience: Very deep knowledge about Mobile Access Technologies (2G, 4G, 5G, IMS) and related Network Architecture (Mobile Terminals, Network Elements and relevant interfaces) as well as about interoperability standards and international forums: 3GPP, GCF. Very deep knowledge about Mobile E2E services for both Consumer and Enterprise. Very deep knowledge about Mobile Network Performance KPIs and related E2E optimization techniques. Strong and effective skills on Walk/Drive/Crowd Test techniques, signalling log processing, troubleshooting and data analytical/logging tools. Proved ability in stakeholder management in projects with deep technical complexity and challenging deadlines. Must have technical / professional qualifications: Motivated, result oriented, very good aptitude in working in a multicultural environment, sound knowledge of professional project management, strong conceptual and analytical thinking. Very good knowledge of written and spoken English. Academic Background: Degree in Telecommunications Engineering or similar. Tenure/Years of experience: at least 7 years of professional experience in mobile telecommunications engineering (Radio, Core, Devices, Quality, Services), preferably in international environment.
