YOUR TEAM You’d be working in a multicultural and multi-disciplinary group, where biomedical, mechanical, automation, and electrical engineers, computational scientists and computer technicians collaborate, each with their own expertise, to carry out common research within the EU project Ergo Lean (funded by the European Union's H2020 Programme with Grant Agreement 850932). The research focuses on the development of control (e.g., adaptive and robust controllers) and machine learning (e.g., deep reinforcement learning) for control of mobile collaborative robots in interactive tasks, in particular with humans. Within the team, your main responsibilities will be: Theoretical and hands-on research on control and ML for HRI using fixed- and mobile-base collaborative robots. Testing and validation of the algorithms and hardware solutions. Supervision of PhD and MSc students. Preparation of grants and support of the general activities of the lab. ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS PhD degree with a strong background in one or multiple of the following topics: robot planning and control and physical human-robot interaction. Strong skills in C++ and Python. Experience with ROS. Confidence with version control tools (specifically git). A strong publication record. The ability to properly report, organize and publish research data. Documented experience in coaching junior scientists. Good command of spoken and written English. ADDITIONAL SKILLS Experience with environmental, wearable and biomarkers sensing devices. Good communication skills. Strong problem-solving attitude. High motivation to learn. Spirit of innovation and creativity. Good at time and priority management. Ability to work in a challenging and international environment.
