The food and drinks application specialist will be responsible for evaluating new developments in innovation technologies by application in food & especially drinks products as well as contributing to the growth objectives of the Global Taste Innovation Platforms. A key area will be supporting the improvement of the Kerry innovation technology portfolio in taste modulation, with a special focus on sugar reduction.
Key responsibilities
1. Iterative testing of Taste Innovations to assess effectiveness and performance, ensuring applications are acceptable in regional and global markets
2. Develop and utilise appropriate application testing methodology /experimental design
3. Develop expertise across a broad range of relevant applications
4. Work with Region / sub Regions to understand most appropriate application formulae
5. Create innovative application concepts in all food and drink sectors which allow the validation and the proactive promotion of new discoveries to deliver business growth opportunities
6. Understand external raw materials and their interaction with Kerry Innovation solutions (eg: Stevia), Salt reduction ingredients (e.g.: KCl)
7. Understand market trends, consumer preferences and customer requirements to identify most relevant applications/market products for new innovation solutions assessment
8. Lead and execute assigned global innovation projects working in collaboration with partnering RD&A scientists and technologies as well as key business stakeholders
9. Lead or co-lead strategic customer and must-win commercial briefs working in collaboration with commercial Flavourists and Scientists in the regions
10. Support Senior Flavourists and Scientists on strategic internal/external technology presentation including designing and preparing technology demos
11. Establish and maintain a global network and communication with regional Flavourist and Scientist technology champions being able to provide references and information on new technologies
12. Prepare and maintain technical records on all assigned projects and meet project deadlines
13. Participate in sensory panels and other developmental opportunity sample evaluations.
Qualifications and skills
14. Degree in Food/Drink Technology or equivalent.
15. 2 – 4 years of relevant beverages experience or equivalent
16. Good level of Italian and English
