Offer Description
The Doctoral Network eNargiZinc “towards innovative and affordable sodium- and zinc-based electrochemical energy storage systems composed of more sustainable and locally-sourced materials” announces 1 position for a PhD researcher. The eNargiZinc project is funded by the European Union under the framework of the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA) Doctoral Networks. The position will begin as soon as possible.
eNargiZinc aims at developing new knowledge and technology related to innovative and affordable next-generation electrochemical energy storage devices, targeting long-term sustainability through the use of abundant and renewable materials and low environmental-impact production processes. A rigorous training-through-research programme for the 11 PhD researchers has been designed through an interdisciplinary and intersectoral approach, involving studies on all the essential parts needed to develop sodium-ion batteries, zinc-air batteries, and zinc-ion batteries/supercapacitors. The research within eNargiZinc will focus on developing sustainable electrode materials (biomass-derived carbons and their composites, redox-active polymers, hybrid transition metal oxides, and interphases for anode-less concepts), electrolytes (solid-state and gel-polymer types), and on integrating all the developed components into full cells at an industrially-relevant scale.
Minimum Requirements:
Master’s degree in a relevant academic field (Chemical or Materials Engineering, Materials Science, Electrochemistry or closely related).
Specific Requirements:
Proficiency in written and spoken English is essential. For additional specific requirements, please refer to the individual PhD descriptions.
Languages: ENGLISH Level Excellent
Eligibility criteria:
* Comply with the mobility rule: They must not have resided or carried out their main activity (work, studies, etc.) in the country of the recruiting beneficiary for more than 12 months in the 3 years immediately before the recruitment date.
