Description
Our client, a non-profit organization in Tamale, Ghana, is looking for a Communications Coordinator to develop and implement effective communication strategies promoting its work in the water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) sector. The role involves creating engaging content for target audiences, including donors, partners, local media, and national and local government, managing social media and websites, coordinating media relations, and producing multimedia materials to raise awareness, advocate for change, and strengthen stakeholder relationships. Qualified candidates will have experience creating engaging content across a variety of media channels for an international NGO or non-profit organization. To be successful, you must possess excellent time management, communication and people skills, with a good understanding of the WASH sector. Responsibilities
* Develop and execute a comprehensive communication plan aligned with organizational goals
* Produce and manage engaging content (e.g., articles, blogs, press releases, videos, social media posts, newsletters, and reports)
* Identify key messaging, audiences, and content calendars for various platforms
* Manage website and social media platforms; monitor and analyze engagement
* Build and maintain media relationships, organize press activities, and monitor coverage
* Develop materials targeted at key stakeholders (e.g., donors, government officials, etc.)
* Assist with preparation and distribution of communication materials for stakeholder events
* Maintain consistent branding, oversee style guides, and address any reputation issues
* Track and evaluate communication efforts; refine strategies based on data and feedback
Qualifications
* Bachelor’s degree required
* 2+ years of communications/public relations for NGO/non-profit experience required
* 2+ years of content creation for various media channels experience required
* Understanding of the water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) sector
* Media relations experience required
* Computer proficiency required
* Fluency (reading, writing, speaking) in English required
