JOB DESCRIPTION:
We are seeking a motivated and skilledElectronic Engineerto join our dynamic, passionate, cross- functional team of engineers and space enthusiasts. As part of our space-segment engineering division, you will play a key role in designing, developing, integrating, and testing Printed Circuit Boards (PCBs) for onboard systems. Your work will focus on delivering high-performance, reliable electronics that meet the demanding requirements of space applications.
This position is ideal for individuals with expertise in PCB design, hardware-software integration, and FPGA architectures. Knowledge in RF design will be considered a strong plus. KEY RESPONSABILITIES AND TAKS:
* PCB Design and Development:
* Design, develop, and test advanced PCBs for onboard systems, ensuring compliance with mission requirements.
* Develop multi-layer PCB designs optimized for space applications, considering constraints such as size, weight, and thermal management.
* Integrate and interface PCB with sensors, cameras and mission-specific technologies.
* Collaborate on hardware-software co-design tasks to optimize system performance.
* Perform signal integrity, power integrity, and electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) analyses during the design phase.
* FPGA Architecture and Development:
* Design, implement, and validate FPGA-based solutions for spaceborne systems.
* Optimize FPGA architectures for performance, reliability, and power efficiency.
* Simulation and Testing:
* Use SPICE and similar tools to simulate circuit designs and validate performance before prototyping.
* Develop and execute test plans to ensure hardware reliability under space-like conditions.
* Reliability and Quality Assurance:
* Ensure designs meet reliability requirements for long-duration missions in extreme environments.
* Collaborate on the development of quality assurance procedures and standards for PCB manufacturing and assembly.
* Software and Firmware Integration:
* Collaborate on firmware development for microcontrollers and FPGAs to enhance the functionality of designed hardware.
* Implement diagnostic routines and hardware monitoring capabilities for in-orbit performance evaluation.
* Collaboration and Documentation:
* Work closely with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless integration of electronic systems into spacecraft architectures.
* Prepare technical documentation, including schematics, simulation results, and test reports.
* Research and Development (R&D):
* Contribute to the development of a new product line focused on onboard electronics, with the potential to lead technical teams in the future.
REQUIRED SKILLS:
* Master’s degreein Electronic Engineering. Relevant profile with a Master’s degree in Aerospace, Telecommunication or Automation Engineer will also be evaluated.
* 2+ years of experiencein PCB design and integration, preferably for space or high-reliability applications.
* Proven experience withFPGA architecture and development, including design, simulation, and validation.
* Familiarity withRF design principlesand integration is highly valued.
* Knowledge of ECSS standardsor experience in the space technology field are not mandatory but will be considered an advantage.
Technical Skills:
* Expertise inPCB design and layoutfor high-reliability systems.
* Strong skills inFPGA design and implementation.
* Basic or advanced knowledge ofRF circuit designis a plus.
* Proficiency withsimulation tools for PCB design and simulation.
* Solid understanding ofembedded system design principles, with experience in hardware-software co-design.
