EDUCATION: Technical High School Diploma University Degree in mechanical field will be a plus SKILLS and CERTIFICATION: Good knowledge (spoken and written) of foreign languages (preferable English, French or Spanish) including technical dictionary will be a plus. Good knowledge in the use of PC including software and applications (e.g. Windows, Office). Good interpersonal and communication skills. Knowledge of the International Quality Standards and applicable design and construction norms and standards. Knowledge and experience of the major standards applied to Oil & Gas projects (e.g. EEMUA, API, ISO EN, ASME, AWS, Customer Standards, etc.); (Preferably) Level 2 or 3 in NDT Methods (e.g. UT/AUT/MT/PT/RT/VT) obtained in an internationally recognized certification scheme (e.g. EN 473, ASNT, SNT-TC-1A, ISO 9712). (Preferably) International diploma in welding technologies (e.g. WE, WT, WI) released by internationally recognized certification scheme (IWF, EWF, CSWIP). CSWIP 3.1 Level II certificate. (Preferable) Certificates related to safety (e.g. BOSIET) for offshore projects. DUTIES: Witnessing the welding tests controls, NDT Tests and inspections carried out. Having overall responsibility for performing the visual inspection of welded joints. Ensuring that the fabricated steel is welded as planned, meets Customer specifications, and inspections are completed as required to support workflow and sequence. Review welding requirements for field erected structures, vessels, tanks, boilers and other process plants. Reporting and maintaining inspection results. Preparing documentation required by the Customer for certification that all quality procedures were followed. Verifying welding parameters and consumables during installation/construction activities. Verifying procedures and welders qualifications. Checking the availability and suitability of the welding equipment, filler material, pre-heating, welding, heat treatment, bevels, the extent of the repairs made by the various welders (taking any corrective action required), the heat treatment record diagrams. Checking and recording pipe sequence. Performing in-process weld inspections and heavy structural steel welded assemblies. Monitoring, and executing activities related to ensuring that inspections of welded assemblies are completed to the requirements of applicable specifications and codes. Ensuring that all welding, heat treatment and any hardness testing are in compliance with the relevant codes and specifications. Interpreting drawings, Customer specifications and standards of moderate complexity. Assisting the Quality Control Manager in administering the quality program at assigned plant. Ensuring that all production-related employees understand and follow applicable standards. Assisting in identifying and solving quality non-conformances in a timely and cost-effective manner. Assisting shop employees with questions and clarifications on QC issues as needed. Working with QA/QC team to ensure the quality control program designed to make sure continuous production of products consistent with established standards is implemented and being followed.
