Program Manager – Space Satellite Development

Position Overview:
As a Program Manager at Space Industries, you will be at the forefront of managing satellite development projects, specifically in the realm of small, nano, and micro satellites. You will work within a dynamic, cross-functional team, and your leadership will be critical to delivering projects on time, within budget, and to the highest standards. This role reports directly to the VP of Programs, and you will act as the primary interface between the customer and our internal teams, vendors, and external partners.
Key Responsibilities:
* Serve as the primary point of contact for customers, suppliers, and external partners throughout the entire project lifecycle.
* Conduct program reviews and maintain a strong customer relationship, ensuring full alignment on objectives and deliverables.
* Develop and manage project schedules, milestones, and tasks (short, medium, and long term), ensuring efficient execution.
* Oversee program budgets, timelines, and risks, using collaborative software tools for tracking and reporting.
* Foster continuous improvement in technology and processes to enhance operational efficiency and product quality.
* Support the preparation of proposals and contribute to business development initiatives.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
* Master's degree in a technical field (Aerospace, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field) or Business, with hands-on experience leading engineering teams.
* 2 to 5 years of work experience in the space industry, with a focus on small, nano, or micro satellites.
* Proven experience as a Systems Engineer on space flight projects is highly desirable.
* In-depth understanding of satellite systems, including space sensors, payloads, and ground systems.
* Experience working in the NewSpace environment and familiarity with the Micro-Nano-Pico Satellite ecosystem.
* Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage teams, create project schedules, and control budgets.
* Excellent communication skills and the ability to engage with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders.
* Strong problem-solving skills, with meticulous attention to detail.
* Fluency in English (both spoken and written) is essential.
Desired Skills & Qualifications:
* 2+ years of experience in Space Industry Program Management.
* Experience managing institutional and commercial customers.
* Understanding of satellite integration, testing, and operations for small and micro satellite missions.
