LICENSED ARCHITECT
Frank Ponterio, recipient of the 2023 Institute for Classical Architecture and Art Florida Chapter's Addison Mizner award for best residential interior design, is seeking an accomplished Architect to join our Naples, Florida team.
We are hiring an Architect with 10+ years of experience focused on interior detailing who will be responsible for leading and managing the interior architecture of multiple projects simultaneously.
The Architect collaborates closely with multiple design teams and principals across the firm's Chicago and Naples studios to develop construction documents and presentation tools to guide our clients through the design process. Works with documents from industry partners as well as surveying existing building conditions and space, creates and tracks construction documentation in AutoCAD, manages execution of full construction drawing sets and reviews vendor shop drawings for approval. Reviews and manages shop drawings from millworkers. Additionally, handles the specification of hard surfaces, hardware, plumbing and architectural lighting. Manages multiple project workflows and product schedules simultaneously to adhere to project timelines and specifications.
A degree in architecture from an accredited program is required as well as an architecture license. Only candidates who meet these qualifications will be considered.
Responsibilities
* Works with leading industry partners' documents to develop detailed interior architectural plans from conception through completion.
* Manages project site surveying and documentation of existing site conditions.
* Produces, manages and maintains construction drawing sets, schedules and details with a high level of both technical and graphic proficiency.
* Ensures drawings are coordinated with actual site conditions, updated with site changes and shared with industry team members on a timely basis.
* Provides assistance to the team in the selection or consideration and choice of building materials such as flooring, wall finishes, tile, plumbing fixtures, hardware and other materials.
* Utilizes AutoCAD software to create drawings, renderings, etc.
* Sources architectural materials and samples from various vendors, manufacturers and artisans.
* Communicates with vendors and subcontractors to obtain specifications and samples.
* Assists and participates in client presentations related to interior architecture.
* Manages creation of client presentations in AutoCAD and Adobe InDesign.
* Attends in-office and off-site meetings with design team and/or clients.
* Manages timely responses to project needs and team RFIs relative to interior architecture.

* Demonstrates excellent verbal and visual communication skills.
* Stays current on new products and resources to ensure design specifications, products and presentations are best in class.
* Participates in company improvement initiatives and contributes new ideas, technologies or procedures to help the entire team's continued growth and learning.
* Trains new hires on internal drawing and architectural presentation standards and drawing organization.
Preferred Qualifications
* 10 years of experience with high-end residential interior design firm or architectural studio.
* Must possess a 4-year degree from an accredited architectural program and an architecture license.
* Experience sourcing and specifying hardware, plumbing, hard surfaces, millwork and lighting.
* Exceptional understanding of high-end related design, detail and quality.
* Proficient in AutoCAD, Adobe Photoshop and InDesign; knowledge of Revit a plus.
* Available to work from firm's Naples studio Monday – Friday and willing to travel to project site meetings.
* Willing to learn and help grow the firm's use of new software and technology.
