We are looking for a Pipeline Geotechnical Engineer for our pipeline project in Italy.
The selected candidate will be responsible for ensuring pipeline integrity during construction, monitoring geotechnical risks, and providing solutions to minimize the impact of geohazards.
Responsibilities:
* Select and optimize pipeline routes considering geological and geotechnical factors.
* Conduct field surveys to assess geotechnical issues and geohazards.
* Evaluate the impact of geohazards on pipeline behavior and suggest mitigation solutions.
* Interpret geological maps, aerial photographs, and satellite/LiDAR imagery for terrain and risk assessment.
* Monitor conditions during and after construction to ensure long-term stability.
* Develop geotechnical models and structural calculations.
* Use commercial software for slope stability analysis and pipe-soil interaction.
* Draft geological and geotechnical reports, including terrain models and subsurface condition analyses.
* Design and implement innovative solutions for watercourse management with eco-friendly techniques.
* Study and monitor groundwater presence and manage hydraulic issues during excavation and pipeline laying phases.
* Evaluate subsoil diggability conditions to ensure accurate excavation operation forecasts.
Requirements:
* Degree in Geotechnical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or related field.
* Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in similar roles, preferably in pipeline sector.
* Experience with geotechnical software for slope stability and pipe-soil interaction analysis.
* Ability to interpret geological and geotechnical data, including maps and satellite imagery.
* Good knowledge of English.
