Job Description:
Telespazio is a joint venture between Leonardo and Thales, one of the world's largest suppliers of satellite solutions and services. The company partners with Thales Alenia Space to form the Space Alliance, a strategic partnership offering a complete range of space services. Founded in Italy in 1961, Telespazio is based in Rome and employs over 3000 people through its various subsidiaries and joint ventures.
The proposed position involves technical work in the SATELLITE TLC field for designing, implementing, and managing global SAT TLC networks. Requirements include:
• Degree in computer or telecommunications engineering
• At least 2 years of experience in the TLC SAT field
• English language proficiency (Level B2)
• Good knowledge of TCP/IP and UDP/IP protocols
Key Responsibilities:
Design, implementation, and management of global TLC SAT networks, optimizing space segment resources.
Provide technical support to the commercial area, drafting customer requirements and design specifications.
Research and identify solutions and products for TLC SAT.
Knowledge areas:
• Satellite access technologies (DVB-S2/TDMA/SCPC)
• Link Budget Analysis for systems in GEO orbit (knowledge of modulation techniques and processes)
• SAT baseband technologies (iDirect, Hughes, Comtech, Newtec, and Cobham)
• Master and VSAT antenna system technology
Activities:
Evolving design of satellite network infrastructures.
Configuring SAT network devices.
Designing and drafting network architecture documentation and technical notes.
Using Office packages (Excel) and Python for task optimization.
Managing multiple tasks with priority definition and process tracking.
Analyzing and troubleshooting network-related issues on satellite networks.
Configuring and managing monitoring systems.
