LAMA Società Cooperativa: ‘A Dimora’ 2025 Residency on the Urban and Natural Environment (Italy)
In-person mobility
Open for: Individuals / Organisations & Collectives Artists Cross-disciplinary
LAMA Società Cooperativa – Impresa Sociale (LAMA) promotes A dimora, a call for artists to create a piece of work that solidifies the relationship between the urban and natural environment and the people who inhabit it (residents and visitors), with the goal of fostering strengthened and shared cultural identities for the area.
A dimora is an artist residency programme lasting two months (June–July) in the Municipality of Londa (Florence). The project seeks five artists who can delve into the territory and its people, activating dynamics within the territory, and exploring its potential.
During the residency, the artists are expected to create an ‘Artistic Project’ in any form (e.g., sculpture, painting, sound and new media art, performance, choreographic and relational practices, workshop- based projects). These projects must be newly conceived and designed to relate to and/or be displayed in the Municipality of Londa and its surrounding natural spaces. The ‘Artistic Project’ must be environmentally conscious and, except for murals, executed in such a way that its potential removal does not cause damage to its context.
Artists must be available in the location for at least 40 non-consecutive days between 3 June and 31 July 2025, and for the final presentation week from 1 to 14 September 2025. Artists must also have a good command of Italian and have their own transport. Group participation is also allowed.
Each artist will receive accommodation, studio space, video and photo reports documenting the creation of the work, and a monetary prize of 5,000 EUR (gross) to be used for the production of the project.
