OT Cyber Security Engineer
About the role
The role of the OT - Cyber Security Engineer is to ensure robust, secure resilient networks and reliable Operational Technology infrastructure and enabler of cybersecurity of OT systems at a site.
The OT - Cyber Security Engineer collaborates with Global Automation and Tech to identify vulnerabilities, implements proactive measures to safeguard data and systems, and serves as a liaison between management and the global teams to ensure that cybersecurity concerns are addressed effectively.
Role Responsibilities
1. Accountable for secure and resilient OT Infrastructure and enabler of cybersecurity of OT systems at the site.
2. Collaborate with the Global OT Security Team on site for reviews, audits, and addressing OT security inquiries.
3. Provide feedback to enhance OT security standards, guidance, processes, and procedures based on on-site experiences.
4. Assist the Global OT Security Team in testing OT security measures, such as new firewall rules.
5. Fulfil OT security standard requirements on-site, including maintaining device and media registers, NDS site documentation.
6. Supporting OT access management, system hardening, patching, antivirus scanning, and system configuration management.
7. Oversee cyber security incidents, vendor compliance, project adherence, risk management, and training delivery at the site.
8. Serve as the primary point of contact for OT security at the site, offering guidance and education to site teams.
Basic Qualifications:
* Bachelor’s degree in engineering, science or a related field. Equivalent experience will be considered.
* Specialist training in OT Cyber Security (e.g. ISA/IEC62433, SANS ICS410). If the selected candidate does not have this training, they will be expected to complete a course at the earliest opportunity – SANS ICS410 is the expected course.
* In depth knowledge of OT infrastructure and OT Cyber Security risk reduction and its use in industrial control systems, principally computer operating systems, Ethernet networking and firewalls.
* Deep understanding of technology and an ability to demonstrate credibility as a technical authority to a broad range of stakeholders.
* High degree of familiarity with a diverse range of manufacturing automation systems.
Preferred Qualifications:
The successful candidate should have experience in one of the following areas:
Essential:
* 5+ years as IT/OT Network/cybersecurity professional.
* Strong experience with OT infrastructure and OT Cyber Security risk reduction.
* Effective communication skills with the ability to interface with operational, capital projects and senior management within the organization.
* Strong analytical, strategic thinking and execution capabilities.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective collaboration and documentation.
* Ability to adapt to rapidly changing technologies and environments in the manufacturing sector.
* Working knowledge and understanding of current Good Manufacturing Practices including Good Documentation Practices.
* Capable of working in multi-disciplinary teams across engineering projects (local and global), new product introduction and technology projects.
Desirable:
* 5+ years manufacturing automation experience with several years in technical roles.
* Strong experience with OT infrastructure and Cyber Security risk reduction.
* Effective communication skills with the ability to interface with operational, capital projects and senior management within the organization.
* Network Security: Proficiency in network security practices, including firewall management, VPNs, VLAN, and network segmentation.
* Communication Protocols: Experience with OPC-UA, OPC-DA, MQTT, Modbus, and other relevant communication protocols.
