Organisation/Company: Università degli Studi di Camerino Department: Scuola di Scienze e Tecnologie - sezione di Chimica Research Field: Chemistry Researcher Profile: Recognised Researcher (R2), Leading Researcher (R4), First Stage Researcher (R1), Established Researcher (R3) Country: Italy Application Deadline: 20 Mar 2025 - 23:59 (UTC) Type of Contract: Permanent Job Status: Full-time Hours Per Week: full-time Offer Starting Date: 1 Jan 1970 Is the job funded through the EU Research Framework Programme? Not funded by a EU programme Is the Job related to staff position within a Research Infrastructure? No Offer Description Na-ion batteries (NIBs) represent an alternative to the consolidated Li-ion batteries (LIBs) where lower prices and higher sustainability are the important features to be considered rather than just energy density, as is typically the case for stationary storage applications. Despite the similar chemistry and operation scheme with respect to the LIB counterpart, the reaction mechanisms and kinetics are yet to be fully characterized and understood, especially with regards to the interfacial phenomena and the evolution of active materials structures. The project proposes to shed light onto the mechanisms of charge/discharge at NIB cathodes and, particularly, anodes, by using advanced chemical, morphological, structural, and electrochemical techniques. Particular attention will be paid to the evolution of electrode structures and morphologies, electrode/electrolyte interfaces, and to their relationship with electrochemical performance.
