We are looking for a Mechanical Engineer to join our team. The selected candidate will be responsible for creating precise mechanical designs using CAD software. This role requires a solid understanding of engineering principles and design, with hands-on experience in the design of satellites and mini-satellites, including paneling and wiring systems. The ability to translate concepts into accurate models and drawings is essential.
Position Overview:
The Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for designing and developing mechanical systems and components for satellites. The role will involve all stages of design, prototyping, testing, and validation, with the goal of ensuring that all components meet the high standards of quality, safety, and performance required for the space industry.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Mechanical Design
* Design, develop, and optimize mechanical components for micro and small satellites, considering technical specifications, materials, and manufacturing solutions.
* Create 3D models and detailed technical drawings using CAD software (SolidWorks, CATIA, AutoCAD, etc.).
* Collaborate with engineering teams to integrate mechanical components into space systems, ensuring that all components are optimized for the space environment.
2. Analysis and Simulation
* Perform structural, thermal, and vibration analyses to verify the performance of components under extreme operational conditions, such as launch and orbit.
* Use simulation software (e.g., ANSYS) to test and validate the behavior of materials and mechanical components.
* Provide solutions to optimize mechanical performance and reduce the risk of failure.
3. Testing and Validation
* Plan, execute, and analyze test campaigns for mechanical components, ensuring they meet design specifications and quality requirements.
* Collaborate with the Testing and Integration team to ensure components are ready for the assembly process and final integration into the satellite.
* Propose improvements based on test results to optimize the robustness of components.
4. Documentation and Reporting
* Prepare and maintain technical documentation related to designs, specifications, and design changes.
* Create test and analysis reports to document the validation of components and design solutions.
* Ensure that documentation complies with company standards and space industry regulations (ECSS, NASA, ISO).
5. Project Management
* Work closely with engineering and production teams to ensure that design activities are completed on time and within budget.
* Monitor the progress of projects, promptly addressing any technical issues that may arise during development.
6. Safety and Compliance
* Ensure that all designed components comply with space safety standards and applicable international regulations.
* Contribute to maintaining a safe work environment by adhering to safety procedures and environmental regulations.
Requirements:
* Education: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.
